MarksRiser ("we", "our", or "us") operates marksriser.com — an AI-powered NEET exam preparation platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: Name and email address provided during sign-up via Google or email/OTP.
  • Usage data: Questions attempted, exam scores, time spent, subjects and chapters practiced.
  • Payment information: Payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store card or UPI details.
  • Device & browser data: IP address, browser type, and operating system for security and analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and personalise the platform (analytics, AI tutor, timetable).
  • Process subscription payments and manage your account.
  • Send important service updates and exam reminders (no spam).
  • Improve platform features using aggregated, anonymised data.
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication and identity management.
  • Razorpay: Payment processing.
  • AWS S3: Storage of uploaded content and images.
  • OpenAI / Google Gemini: AI-generated explanations and tutor responses. Only question text is sent — never personal information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and exam history for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us. Exam progress saved locally (browser storage) is automatically cleared after 7 days.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and save exam progress. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your Rights

  • Access or download the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications.

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are never stored — we use Firebase authentication. We regularly review our security practices.

9. Children's Privacy

MarksRiser is intended for students aged 15 and above preparing for NEET. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us for immediate removal.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
